Holy Chuck

I apologize for my absence dear followers (all 5 of you). But this post should more than make up for my silence...

Talk about the best burger I have ever had. It's even called the 'Cowlorie'.  I have been to Holy Chuck at Yonge and St-Clair 3 times and was always too much of a weenie to order anything but a cheeseburger with bacon and a fried egg.

This time, I decided to live it up and get a double cheeseburger that is served between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Next time I will either order the cheeseburger in a croissant OR the cheeseburger patty on top of the burger made of ground bacon.  It's no joke.

Since it was Jeff's birthday, they offered us free dessert. Have you ever had raw cookie dough wrapped in bacon and then deep fried? I am now no longer a virgin and it was fantabulous.

NUTELLERIE AT CNE OMG

Something I discovered when camping was this delicious concoction -  take a banana and keep peel on. Cut lengthwise, add some nutella down the cut along with some marshmallows.  If feeling adventurous, add PB as well.  Cover in foil and throw in the fire for a few minutes.  Ultimate slut.  Try it, I dare you.

Italian deliciousness

 The best thanks to my colleague Joe Stabile ! A ricotta cheese pastry deep fried and then lightly coated in sugar.  With Nutella of course.

There was a sale at work today for the United Way. I learnt that just because items like Chef Boyardee, S+V chips, fruit rollups and Twix are on sale for a dollar - it doesn't  mean that I have to eat all of them. at once.

Are we in the deep south?

Have a look at a delicious breakfast from the Drake hotel in Toronto - Fried chicken, butter on a chive waffle covered in maple syrup. It tasted even better than it looked. The hairy arm belongs to Jeff.
I had fantabulous eggs benny. Hollandaise so bang on I almost licked the plate. The wasps were disappointed.

No longer a deep fried Mars bar virgin!

I have always heard of these but never had the opportunity to try one which is weird since I work for the company. Well last saturday night at a Scottish pub, I decided to eat less of my steak and ale pie to leave room for the king of slutty dessert. Here is a photo. It was warm, gooey and fried. What more can you ask for?

Tempura chocolate anyone?

After lots of laughs, a big can of Sapporo and succulent sushi, we wanted something sweet to round out the meal so we got this fantabulous dessert - tempura chocolate over vanilla bean ice cream. Karen, thanks for an awesome lunch.

Queen of slut is...

Jen DeMunck! You know how people say it's better to give than to receive? Well not this time my friends. I was ecstatic to be on the receiving end of my new favourite dessert.
It was the Russian Doll of cookies: An OREO cookie inside a homemade chocolate chip cookie. How brilliantly sneaky. Thanks Jen for introducing me to a whole new world of cookie opportunity. If only I can figure out how to get a Fudgeo inside a Pirate cookie inside a chocolate chip cookie...

A day full of slut

For father's day I decided to surprise Jeff with all of his favourite foods. Unfortunately, he doesn't have 5 star Michelin tastes...
The day started off with Pilsbury Cinnamon rolls which was subdued compared to what was to come.

An hour later, we pulled up to Popeye's. We got a family meal which comprised of 8pc of fried chicken, mac+cheese, red beans and rice and coleslaw. If you're into fried chicken, Popeye's is the place to go. But my gut was crying for mercy.

By the time my indigestion cured itself, it was time to go for dinner. I swear I heard my intestines say 'nooooooooooo moooooooooooooooore'. Anyway, Jeff couldn't have been happier with the final selection of the day - Red Lobster. The best part of the meal were the biscuits that came with our drinks. By the time I was wiping the crumbs off my face from my 3rd biscuit in comes our dinner. Mine a shrimp platter - fried shrimp, shrimp alfredo and shrimp bathing in garlic and butter sauce. Jeff's something even worse. I don't think I will have shrimp for another month. It's bad when a restaurant turns you off what's considered to be a delicacy.

I am glad father's day is another year away.

Ode to my friend Val

Last night I made my favourite green bean casserole - straight out of the 50's. It had frozen beans, mushroom soup, cheddar cheese and the best part... French's fried onions on top. My friend Val who isn't much of an eater (well that's what it looks like anyway) even had seconds! That's how I knew it was good. And then she took some home which I thought was a bit greedy but that's a story on my other blog - www.whatnottodoatadinnerparty.com. Do note, it is a Weight Watchers recipe. Jennifer Hudson would be proud.

Ode to Slutty Foods

Jen Demunck led a team of cake decorating experts to create a wonderful farewell gift for me from work. The fondant decorations consisted of all foods slutty including but not limited to: Nutella, pierogies, fries, bacon, hamburger, chocolate croissants, etc. To seal the deal that overeating during pregnancy is a given, I had a heaping serving of the double chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream layers. So slutty.
As a side note, the dessert was preceded by an all you can eat chinese buffet where they served everything from dim sum to pierogies. Not quite authentic chinese but the jello and fried dough balls dipped in sugar were welcomed regardless.

Pierogies, Bacon and Cheese - Oh my!

Had my monthly slutty brunch at the Chilanteas today to ring in the new year. We had delicious Panettone French Toast, sausge and cheese biscuits, my slutty hashbrown casserole (one of the first updates I ever posted)and a NEW pierogi casserole.

As if potato and cheese pierogies aren't slutty enough, I added a layer of cream cheese, crumbled bacon and a final layer of shredded cheese that would then bubble to perfection after 20 minutes in the oven. Needless to say, after a few bites of each thing on our plates - we were full. And slightly nauseous. Oh well, we had fun.

A little bit wrong

A Mars bar that you place on top of a lamp to ensure a bit of 'meltingness'. This allows you to doubly enjoy your experience as you eat the bar and then lick the wrapper.

Sweet Quebec Sugar Pie

Made of sugar, flour, butter and more sugar - sugar pie from my home in quebec is sublime. Highly recommend trying it but preferably not after you've eaten a big meal as you won't appreciate the slutty goodness of it.

Deep fried banana goodness

The only thing that can top an all you can eat red meat buffet is one that ends with bananas that are deep fried and then coated with sugar and cinnamon.
The Wrigley Canada marketing team had a great dinner at Copacabana where we ate until we cried uncle.
As a wise man once said "the only thing better than meat is all you can eat meat" - Thomas Tse.
The servers kept on coming out with more skewers of meat but by far, the sluttiest meat product was some sort of prime rib that was infused with so much cheese that it was oozing everywhere. The last newsworthy mention are the bread balls that were baked with orange cheese. I don't want to go as far as call it Cheddar as it had a processed/slutty taste but it was delicious so could have been.

Shout out to Thomas for eating his body weight in a combination of beef, lamb, sausage, chicken and some unfortunate salad bar items.

Slutty blushed at this breakfast

The Chilanteas came over for brunch today and I served a new casserole.
Ingredients: eggs, sausage, ham, cheese, puff pastry. Need I say more?
Side dishes included: bacon (regular and extra crispy a.k.a extra slutty) along with Pilsbury crescents (1/2 plain, 1/2 with chocolate chips baked in).
Drinks: Sealtest chocolate milk.
Dessert: I had purchased Strawberry Toaster Strudels but alas, we were too full. What a pity.
Note: Sluttiest part of the meal is when Rich wanted some water but there was a bit of milk left in his glasss. So instead of rinsing the glass, he poured water in with the leftover milk for some cloudy water. I gagged.
